The Family Centre is delighted that Charles Waldegrave, Co-ordinator of the Pakeha section of the Family Centre and Leader of the Social Policy Research Unit, was made a Companion of the Queen’s Service Order in the New Zealand New Year Honours. The award referred to Charles’ long record of service to social policy in New Zealand, but he says, behind that is the extensive work of the Family Centre in family therapy, community development, social policy research and education and training.
The official investiture was held on Wednesday 25th March and the Family Centre held it’s own congratulatory dinner on 27th March 2009. Many of those involved with the Family Centre work over the past 30 years attended to reminisce and celebrate the acknowledgement of this award.
